Utility Work on Hope Street
Schedule Update (Week of 7/13/26): Project schedule has been updated. Construction is anticipated to resume on Wednesday 7/15 and continue through Friday 7/24. Any traffic impacts or detours will be posted here as soon as they become available. Please use caution near areas with prepped or freshly poured concrete, which will be clearly marked and coned off. Drivers should proceed carefully and follow all instructions from traffic personnel.
Traffic Impacts 7/15/26 : Hope St. (from Olney St. to Cohen Ln.) is currently reduced to a single lane for northbound traffic only. Southbound drivers must detour using Doyle, Howell, or Carrington, depending on where active work is taking place. Please watch for posted detour signs and follow all directions from traffic personnel. "No Parking" signs in the area are in effect.
Providence Water crews/contractors will be working on Hope Street in Providence from Olney Street to Cypress Street.
Dates: Monday, June 29, 2026 - Friday, July 24, 2026.
Time: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM Monday - Friday.
During this period, you may experience:
- Temporary traffic lane closures and/or detours in the work zone
- Limited parking or no parking in affected areas
Providence Water contractors will return to this area again in August 2026 to complete final road restoration.
